ControllerAutomated Business Solutions (ABS) | Warwick, RI | Full-Time | In-OfficePosition SummaryThe Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company and serve as a key member of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and leading a team of four accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other financial partners
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals
- Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive accounting and financial management experience
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- CPA designation is welcome but not required
- Industry experience in office technology, service, distribution, or related industries is helpful but not required
