ControllerJob DescriptionThis role is responsible for overseeing the monthly close, ensuring the accuracy of consolidated financial statements, and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies. The Controller will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer to enhance FP&A, investment analysis, and cash flow forecasting capabilities, supporting decision-making processes and facilitating audit and tax compliance.
Responsibilities- Lead the monthly close and consolidation process for all domestic and international entities.
- Enhance and automate multi-currency consolidation and deliver a complete, accurate consolidated financial package.
- Apply and document US GAAP positions in consultation with the CFO.
- Support the execution of the annual audit and tax compliance by responding promptly to auditor and tax advisor requests.
- Maintain a monthly and annual compliance checklist for filings.
- Support the creation of a sustainable FP&A process and deliver monthly variance reporting.
- Lead the creation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the CFO to present to stakeholders.
- Maintain oversight and controls of cash flow across all entities and support the creation of a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Assist in building and reviewing models for capital expenditure requests and administer the capital approval process.
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, setting clear expectations and building individual development plans.
Essential Skills- Experience in accounting, general ledger, and consolidations.
- 5 + years of progressive experience in Public Accounting or Corporate environment.
- Solid US GAAP foundation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation.
- Experience with ERP systems, data analytics, and AI.
- Knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Experience with Deacom ERP is an advantage.
Work EnvironmentThe position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in an office setting. The role involves using various technologies and tools, including Deacom ERP and Microsoft Office applications.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
