Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic financial leader that will partner across the business to fuel growth and drive profitability by preparing robust financial analyses, implementing sound accounting practices, and developing strong processes and controls to effectively manage financial performance. The Controller is responsible for all Finance and Accounting functions at Ajax Group's Brookfield, WI location. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background in a manufacturing environment with experience using data and key performance indicators to identify trends and proactively influence results.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for all Finance functions including General Accounting, Inventory and Cost Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis.
- Prepares accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis of business activity and financial position. Identifies trends and opportunities to improve performance and reduce manufacturing and SG&A costs. Creates ad hoc reports for the Ajax Group CFO as needed.
- Maintains a system of internal accounting controls to safeguard the reporting of company assets. Develop and implements effective policies and procedures. Periodically reviews Ajax Group business processes for efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.
- Perform the month-end close process in IFS, the ERP system, Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Spend/Costing analytics.
- Prepares monthly financial forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan in close partnership with the Ajax Group leadership team.
- Work with operations on spend reductions, utilization improvement and job variance identification and serve as business partner to the local management team in support of operational requirements.
- Prepares financial justifications for capital investments. Tracks capital spending vs. approved budget and performance against business case assumptions.
- Consistently improve all financial processes and procedures to drive an efficient and control focused environment within IFS.
- Supports internal and external audit requests.
- Ensures all federal, state, and other required governmental reports are filed promptly.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Capital equipment manufacturing experience.
- Experience with IFS ERP system.
- CPA or MBA
- Experience with POC Accounting.
