Job Description:

Job Summary:

As the Controls Systems Team Lead with the Electric Power Systems team, you will lead a team in the planning, development, validation, and deployment of Caterpillar Electronic Systems and Controls supporting the Electric Power Generation. Areas of responsibility include system and hardware component requirements and definition, software content and release planning, management of schedule to meet program needs, and accountability for full system on-time delivery with expected quality. This position requires technical knowledge of electronic systems, software development, and control strategies, and also requires strong leadership skills.

What You Will Do:
  • Primary Electronics point of contact with the Electric Power product group
  • Provide direct leadership to a team of engineers
  • Drive system and component requirements definition
  • Define software content and release schedule to meet program needs
  • Assure NPI and CPI issue resolution within system scope
  • Assure system content and quality readiness to meet NPI milestones
  • Communicate project updates in deep dives, DRs, GWs, and other reviews

  • Ability to determine the language and experience level of an individual/ group
  • Ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience
  • Introduces technical terminology to listeners in the context of the product


Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy a situation
  • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research
  • Ability to solve a complex problem by breaking it down into component parts


Embedded Systems:
  • Knowledge of embedded software development
  • Understands the basic structure and functioning of an embedded system
  • Understands and works with embedded programming languages


Project Management:
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics
  • Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical resources to achieve project objectives


Education:
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum or related engineering field.


Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
