Job Summary
The Contracts Manager is a key member of our Shared Services team. The Manager will work to develop and support contract initiatives and activities, including but not limited to contract initiation, authoring, process and workflow, negotiation and approval, execution, ongoing management, and compliance.
Responsibilities Include
• Develop and own the JMS contract management strategy and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) process and standards
• Collaborate with various team members to develop contract lifecycle procedures including change management, record keeping, and auditing
• Create common language, core templates, unified terms, and repeatable, consistent conditions for contracts
• Manage procurement and sales contracts, IP licenses, and other internal agreements
• Consult with various team leaders on contractual related topics
• Serve as the liaison for contract negotiations with customers and vendors
• Support the Project Management team contractually with a zero-value change order initiative
• Collaborate with external JMS stakeholders to ensure successful contract lifecycle management
• Request, author, negotiate, approve, and sign contracts (through responsibility thresholds)
• Collaborate with various JMS team leaders to approve respective segments of contracts (through responsibility thresholds)
• Ensure contract compliance with legal requirements
• Ensure successful transition of contracts from JMS Product Units to Project Execution
• Storage, organization, and retrieval of contracts as needed
• Collaborate with various team leaders and members to track, report, and ensure compliance with sales and procurement contracts at all stages of the contract lifecycle
• Coordinate with various team leaders and members to re-negotiate contracts as necessary
• Collaborate with various team leaders and members to ensure successful contractual close out
• Collaborate with various team leaders and members to perform contract postmortems when necessary to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Marketing or related field or equivalent years of work experience
• 7+ years of contracts experience
• Proven ability to collaborate, draw-out information, and work effectively across multiple departments and teams
• High-level of proficiency in Microsoft Desktop Applications
• Effective at prioritization and being a self-starter working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment
• Excellent negotiation and organization skillset
Desired Experience and Skills
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment in the water and wastewater industry
• Experience at a small to mid-size Engineering firm, Construction firm, or Manufacturing facility
• Experience with supply chain strategy and supplier contract management
