The Role

As a Contracts Manager, you will work with diverse legal and cross-functional teams and play a critical role supporting Netflix’s Product & Tech Legal team in managing vendor deals across the globe. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and contract managers to assist in managing vendor agreements worldwide;
  • Independently structure, draft and negotiate vendor agreements, including data processing agreements and security requirements, ensuring alignment with Netflix standards, industry norms and deal context;
  • Establish and maintain strong internal relationships with cross-functional partners; 
  • Clearly and succinctly communicate solutions to internal business clients;
  • Efficiently resolve issues without causing delays, adapting to the fast-paced nature of Netflix;
  • Contribute to team policies, practices and workflows; 
  • Optimize and support contract and workflow systems; 
  • Create and maintain information on our internal legal portal;
  • Support the team on ad hoc matters and special projects outside core responsibilities as priorities require;

The role is based in Los Gatos, CA or Los Angeles, CA and reports to a Senior Contracts Manager, Product & Tech Legal Contract Management.

What we need from you:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience as a transactional paralegal, contracts negotiator, or contracts manager, working in-house at a company or law firm;
  • Substantial experience in contract review, structuring, and drafting, as well as negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements;
  • Strong proficiency with vendor agreements, particularly cloud service/SaaS agreements, software and other technology licenses;
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently;
  • Excellent judgment and critical-thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply lessons learned across vendor negotiations, template drafting, and internal guidance;
  • Ability to flex across business groups, contract types, and operational tasks as team priorities shift;
  • Responsive and comfortable requesting and accepting feedback, with strong communication skills;
  • Default approach that favors sharing information openly and proactively; 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, ability to drive progress on multiple projects simultaneously; 
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity; and
  • Experience with games studios and game development is a plus.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000.00 - $330,000.00.
