Join Crane Currency as a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Dalton, MA and lead high-impact initiatives that transform manufacturing performance, reduce waste, and drive real operational results.

How you will make an impact:
In this role, you will drive meaningful improvements across manufacturing and business processes using Lean Six Sigma principles grounded in the Crane Business System. You will play a key role in enhancing safety, improving product quality, and increasing operational efficiency while reducing costs. By partnering closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams, you will help solve complex challenges and build a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact productivity, customer satisfaction, and long-term business performance.
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives and training to drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Conduct root cause analysis and apply statistical methods to improve process capability and reduce defects
  • Partner with operations teams to develop, implement, and sustain standard work and process documentation
  • Identify and execute improvements to reduce downtime, process interruptions, and delivery delays
  • Analyze data to evaluate project feasibility, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable cost savings
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and implement CBS tools to improve operational performance
  • Collaborate with Safety leadership to identify and implement improvements in high-risk or problem areas
  • Map processes, identify gaps, develop solutions, and lead execution of improvement projects


Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience or exposure to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, TPM) and Kaizen methodologies
  • Ability to analyze data and apply problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping software

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience participating in Kaizen events
  • Experience with Six Sigma tools (SPC, control charts, capability analysis, Gage R&R)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or working toward certification)
  • Experience with manufacturing systems (e.g., JDEdwards, SMART, Plant Apps, Master Control)


The salary range for this role is $75,000 - 88,000 annually. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
