Your Role: Consulting Veterinarian - Strategic Partnerships

The Consulting Veterinarian (CV) for Strategic Partnerships serves as the companion animal veterinary technical anchor for Elanco's corporate/distribution account managers within the US Pet Health Business Unit. This role focuses on educating industry partners on Elanco's parasiticides, vaccines, and dermatologic portfolio, facilitating the adoption of Elanco's Pet Health products within strategic partner hospitals. The SP CV develops and implements Elanco's veterinary medical strategy with key customers, acting as the primary medical/technical contact and coordinating broader RCV team activities.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for Corporate/Strategic partners; provide technical support to Strategic Partnership account managers; cultivate relationships and influence formulary approval/adoption.
  • Communicate product features, benefits, and disease-state information via in-person, remote, and recorded presentations; plan, staff, and organize RCV presentations and field support at partner regional/sponsored meetings.
  • Provide technical support for new and existing product launches; develop and implement medical/positioning strategies to meet partnership goals.
  • Actively participate in the Strategic Account Management (SAM) process; understand business, contracts, and strategic principles; assist account managers in relationship building and deliver product technical training as needed.
  • Travel regularly (~60%, higher during launches) to partner regional meetings, corporate offices, and hospitals to execute medical presentations and stakeholder engagement.


What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Graduate of an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) accredited veterinary program with corresponding veterinary degree. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the USA.
  • 5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian in companion animal or mixed animal practice (companion animal focus). Consideration may also be given for experience in comparable industry roles.
  • Experienced in interactions with corporate veterinary medicine (veterinarians and clinics).

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $141,000 to $235,000 depending partly on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above. Elanco reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion, and Elanco's compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Elanco employees.
