Director, Consulting - Oklahoma City

Role Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Director to join our Oklahoma City consulting team in a leadership role, focused on client delivery and expansion, new pursuits and proposals, and consultant development. The ideal candidate brings a strong consulting or advisory background, deep finance and accounting expertise, and the executive presence to lead difficult conversations with confidence. This Director will manage a portfolio of client relationships, mentor and develop a team of consultants, and play an active role in scoping new engagements and supporting business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of client engagements, serving as the primary relationship owner for assigned accounts
  • Scope new client projects and develop engagement economics, staffing plans, and proposals
  • Mentor and develop the Oklahoma City consulting team, acting as a day-to-day leader and coach
  • Review consultant deliverables and maintain high standards of quality across all client work
  • Balance time approximately 75/25 between billable client work, non-billable development work including sales pursuits, and internal team leadership
  • Provide consulting services for clients, including accounting functions, reporting, forecasting, and planning activities
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive market growth, team performance, and operational excellence
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, including CEOs, board members, private equity sponsors, and investors
  • Support business development and sales efforts, including proposal development and participation in client pursuits

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • 5+ years in a consulting, advisory, or outsourced finance capacity
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously while executing against project timelines and deliverables
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to navigate difficult conversations, influence senior stakeholders, and present complex financial matters clearly
  • Experience developing proposals and supporting business development or client acquisition efforts

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA (active or inactive) and/or MBA designation strongly preferred
  • Experience in business origination, networking, or client development
  • Corporate or operational accounting background with strong technical accounting skills
  • Project accounting or cost accounting experience
  • Familiarity with multiple ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Dynamics)
