JOB SUMMARYYou will work collaboratively with departments to support the delivery of the City's strategic objectives related to promoting a healthy and safe organizational culture by: recommending wellness strategies and best practices, providing conflict management services through consultations and facilitated discussions, supporting Peer Support Networks through clinical consultations, recommendations, and providing guidance and support on critical incidents.
You will collaborate with internal and external partners to promote wellness programs and/or strategies for a specific client group within the City. Promoting and championing activities and initiatives that encourage healthy behaviours, in support of the City's Wellness Strategy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECompletion of Master's degree in social work, psychology, education or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in social work or a related field.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSESRegistered Social Worker or equivalent with OCSWSSW
KNOWLEDGE- Wellness principles, theories and concepts
- Psychosocial assessment techniques, crisis intervention strategies and community resources
- Adult psychology, critical incident stress debriefing, and conflict resolution
- Counselling/Psychotherapy models and practices
- Employee Assistance Programs, policies and practices
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES- Conduct psychosocial assessments, applied crisis intervention and assessment interviews
- Design, develop and deliver training and presentation materials to employees and leadership
- Facilitation, consulting and problem-solving skills to assess client needs and develop effective solutions and implementation strategies
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and managers
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW- Language Requirement: Designated Bilingual - specific level of language proficiency: French: oral, reading, writing English: oral, reading, writing Candidates who do not meet language requirements will be required to participate in training.
