Job Description

The Upgrade Delivery Consultant is experienced with the upgrade of Medication Management Systems. This involves extensive customer interaction and relationship development at the Director/Key Stakeholder level. In addition, the Consultant guides the upgrade process through demonstrated expertise of clinical and technical processes of Medication Management Systems. The effective Consultant must be able to clearly communicate, thoroughly document and demonstrate product upgrade competency. This also involves working with the customer by gathering customer requirements, defining best practices, design decisions and policy and procedures consulting. The Consultant effectively performs the required tasks to ensure timely upgrade Go-Lives and customer satisfaction. The Consultant must have the ability to establish collaborative working relationships with cross-functional project teams. Project teams will include multiple disciplines from within Medication Systems and customer teams.

Accountabilities
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of pharmacy/clinical workflow processes, hospital & pharmacy system integration, clinical device settings, interface validation (ADT, billing, patient profile), user account role design, active directory ranging.
  • Serves as a customer advocate by identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for proactive improvement.
  • Demonstrates problem solving, troubleshooting and system consultation as it relates to pharmacy workflow and best practice considerations and health system standardization.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve customer upgrade experiences, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Shares lessons learned and field feedback to support continuous improvement initiative.
  • Supports knowledge transfer and onboarding activities to strengthen team competency
  • Promotes and follows standardized delivery methodologies and operational consistency across upgrade engagements.
  • Serves as a customer advocate by identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for proactive improvement.
  • Mentors consultants and contributes to development of team capabilities and organizational knowledge.
  • Compliant with all relevant BD policies, procedures, administrative tasks, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all role-related project records are accurate and up to date.
  • Fosters strong relationships with sales and service teams supporting pre-sale and post upgrade transitions.
  • Possesses a growth mindset, actively seeking feedback to reflect on own performance.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, verbal and written, with customers, project teams and leadership.

  • Expertise in HIS/PIS systems and pharmacy and nursing workflow.
  • Three or more years in healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.
  • Experience with integrated delivery networks/large health systems required.
  • Preferred Certifications: RPh, Pharmacy Technician
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting.
  • Driving requirements dictate that the candidate possess and maintain a valid driver license and be at least 21 years old. Must meet BD's auto safety standards.
  • Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis
  • Ability to work independently from home office
  • Home based position with travel. Travel may range from 25 - 75%, overnight travel. Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends.
