Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking entry-level to senior-level Engineers with experience in Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) or Advanced Nuclear or licensing experience related to risk-based methods. In this role, you'll partner with global leaders in the nuclear industry on projects that directly influence risk and reliability, plant safety, regulatory decision-making, and next-generation PRA techniques. Those who have adjacent experience to nuclear industry risk-based work are encouraged to apply.

Our PRA team is based in West Chester, PA, but we know top talent isn't confined by geography. Remote work is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

You'll have opportunities to contribute across a variety of areas, such as:
  • PRA Modeling & Analysis - developing and enhancing PRA models for internal events, fire, seismic, and external hazards
  • Risk-Informed Applications - supporting licensing and regulatory strategies that impact plant operations (e.g., RICT, 50.69, ILRT extensions)
  • Tools & Innovation - applying online risk tools and exploring advanced methods, including optimization approaches
  • Human Reliability & Accident Analysis - conducting HRA and evaluating severe accident scenarios
  • Advanced Nuclear - supporting regulatory and risk initiatives for next-generation nuclear (e.g., NEI 18-04, LMP, ESP and siting)
  • Client & Regulatory Support - providing consulting expertise, preparing regulatory submittals, and delivering solutions that improve safety and efficiency

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct PRA analyses, calculations, and risk-informed engineering evaluations
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver practical, innovative solutions
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor and support early-career engineers through knowledge-sharing and guidance
  • Advise and interpret new and advanced nuclear regulations, methods, and approaches to support industry (e.g., NEI) and advanced nuclear vendor needs
  • Contribute to business growth by building relationships and identifying opportunities

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent PRA-related experience)
  • Experience with nuclear plant or advanced nuclear PRA, operations, licensing, or engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to nuclear safety
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • United States citizen or lawful permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of PRA experience (10+ for senior-level consideration)
  • Hands-on experience in PRA (internal events, fire PRA, external hazards, or risk-informed applications)
  • Familiarity with NRC risk-informed processes
  • Prior consulting or client-facing experience
  • Project management or technical leadership experience
