Overview
Next 150 Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent II. TheConstructionSuperintendent IIsupports project field operations byassistingwith the coordination of assigned trade contractors and field activities, ensuring work is performedin accordance withapproved scope, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule expectations. This roleoperateswith limited supervision and supports daily planning, documentation, and execution activities.Responsibilities
This roleassistswith safety enforcement, quality control inspections, and field coordination, and works closely with senior field leadership to support efficient, compliant, and well-organized jobsite operations. - Coordinates assigned trade contractors and field activities to supportadherence to approved schedules, budgets, and work plans - Reviews and works in strict accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications for assigned scopes - Remains informed of all assigned field activities and monitors work in progress to ensure compliance with approved work plans;maintainsaccuratedaily field reports, safety documentation, and records using requiredconstruction management and safety operationssystems - Supports all field safety efforts;assistswith safety orientations;conducts safetyobservations and audits;enforces safety and quality control policies within assigned scopes and escalates concerns to senior field leadership - Attends andparticipatesin project meetings asrequiredto support coordination and communication - Tracks production, labor hours, and productivity metrics for assigned scopes and reports variances - Supports self-performanceoperations, workforce planning, and quantification of labor, materials, and equipment needs for assigned scopes - Assistswith forecasting labor and material needs and supports cost-of-work tracking asrequired; supports material procurement, delivery coordination, and sitelogisticsactivities - Establishes andmaintainscredibility with Owners, trade contractors, unions, and field personnel through professional, fair, and consistent conduct - Assistswith onboarding and training activities - Manages daily reporting, documentation, and cost tracking infinance and construction management software - Assistsin resolving jurisdictional disputes and field-level issues within assigned scopes - Implements and supports sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives within assigned scopesQualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION - Bachelors orMasters degree in Engineering or Construction Management - 3+ years experience leading crews of 20-25+ craft in a superintendent capacity, 5-8 years construction experience - Superintendent experience on projects of total value $20 million - $50 million+ - Ability to Travel locally around the DMV area if needed - OSHA 30 hour certified - Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strong technical and communication skills - Strong labor relations with union and non-union engagement - Excellent organizational skills - Ability to work in a team environment - Proficient in Microsoft Office,safety and site operations software, andconstruction management software - Knowledge of construction-documentingand drawing, with knowledge of all phases of construction - Knowledgein all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling,costcontroland forecasting - Ability to create a safety first environment by showing a commitment to Zero Injury principles and sustainability practices Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For the Maryland this ranges from $80,000.00 - $112,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program. For the Arlington, VA this ranges from $86,000.00 - $124,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
