Full Job Description
Surmount seeks an experienced and results-driven Construction Project Manager to oversee construction projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Oversight
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress against established timelines and budgets, reporting regularly to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, change orders, and cost tracking logs.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.


Field & Site Management
  • Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, documenting progress with photos, measurements, and field reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Track construction schedules, crew deployment, and utility infrastructure (water, sewer, electric, gas).
  • Coordinate with utility inspectors, contractors, and city officials (including NYC project personnel when applicable).


Design, Documentation & Logistics
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and design teams on technical drawings, floor plans, and interiors.
  • Manage project documentation including schedules, FF&E sheets, and design files.
  • Support sourcing, procurement, and installation of FF&E.
  • Ensure all project records are consistently updated and organized.


Client Interaction & Communication
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and timely updates.
  • Support presentations and visual material preparation for client meetings.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Direct experience with utilities (water, sewer, electric, gas) highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Procore, Primavera), Microsoft Office (Excel required), and YARDI
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of cost/time estimating is a plus.
  • PMP, CCM, or LEED certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.


Working Conditions
