Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline

Job Summary:

The Construction Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, analyzing, and reporting integrated construction schedules to support field execution objectives. The role interfaces with Construction, Field Engineering, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Subcontracts, Project Controls, and Client teams to ensure a logical, resource-driven path from engineering release and material availability through fabrication, delivery, and field installation aligned to construction sequence and turnover objectives. The Construction Planner supports the achievement of milestone commitments by providing schedule development and maintenance, Level 3 and Level 4 schedule updates, 3WLA planning, progress and performance measurement, forecasting, and critical path analysis throughout the construction lifecycle. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Update and maintain Level 3 (project control) schedules to reflect actual progress, logic revisions, and current forecast.
  • Develop and update Level 4 (detailed execution) schedules integrating engineering, procurement, fabrication, and field installation activities.
  • Integrate engineering deliverable release, material required-on-site dates, and subcontractor activities into the overall construction schedule.
  • Establish logic ties between engineering release, material delivery, and construction installation sequences.
  • Develop work-area and system-based construction sequences aligned to area readiness, tie-ins, and turnover.
  • Prepare and maintain 3-week look-ahead (3WLA) schedules in close collaboration with construction supervision to drive short-interval planning.
  • Produce 90-day look-ahead schedules supporting field readiness and material availability.
  • Coordinate schedule development around area and system availability, crew loading, and construction sequence objectives.
  • Track constraints (engineering, materials, permits, and access) impacting field execution.
  • Support work packaging and Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) alignment with the field installation plan.
  • Update and maintain construction progress status, including physical percent complete and earned quantities.
  • Analyze schedule performance and identify risks to construction milestones and turnover dates.
  • Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies for schedule deviations.
  • Forecast completion dates for critical work fronts, systems, and milestones.
  • Produce look-ahead schedules supporting field execution readiness.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Primavera P6 scheduling expertise.
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methodology.
  • Power BI dashboard development.
  • Earned Value Management concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Construction execution methods and field installation sequencing
    • Engineering, procurement, fabrication, and material delivery interfaces
