  • Train, supervise, and mentor new and existing staff
  • Track project budgets and review related invoices
  • Perform project manager responsibilities for assigned projects

Full Job Description
We have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Construction Materials Department Manager.

Duties:
  • Oversee the Buda's CMT Department including field and laboratory staff
  • Responsible for the departments profit and loss
  • Work with project designers, clients and Project Managers to ensure that project specifications are followed
  • Business development including forming relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities and preparation of proposals and bid estimates
  • Training, supervising and mentoring staff
  • Track project budgets and review invoices
  • Perform project manager duties on assigned projects

Education/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of construction materials testing and observation experience, required
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications, required
  • Experience in forming relationships with clients and preparing bid estimates/proposals for materials testing and special inspections projects, required
  • Experience in managing staff, required
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving history, required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, required
  • Strong organization and planning skills, required
  • Comfortable with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneDrive, required
  • 4-year Civil Engineering degree, preferred, EIT or PE level accreditation, preferred
  • Experience ranging from small to large complex construction and/or heavy highway projects, preferred

Certifications/Licenses:
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
  • One ICC Certification Preferred Certifications
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • NICET: Soils, Concrete and Asphalt
