Overview
William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is currently hiring for a
Construction Manager to support our Power Delivery team.
The Construction Manager will lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of electrical construction projects. The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of project operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and company leadership while driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Location & Travel Requirements: You can live in any city or state in the continental United States. This is an on-site position which may encompass a work site primarily in the Midwest, but may include Eastern and Western states. Must be capable of working on-site for 3 weeks with a four-day rotation. We offer designated per diem of $1,020 per week in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. You must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for the assigned work location.
Responsibilities
- Safety planning for all field operations and activities within the assigned project's scope of work
- Understand the applicable trades agreements and coordinate with the Local Bargaining Units
- Personnel management, including setting production goals, safety goals and quality goals, craft call outs from locals, work assignments, weekly time management, manage craft ratios in accordance with the project agreement and Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Identify resources needed, including personnel, material and equipment to perform the scope of work
- Manage and update the work schedule to include, manpower, equipment, materials (including, but not limited to Cable Management Plans)
- Contribute to monthly cost to complete reviews for assigned project and advise the Project Manager
- Weekly quantities completed and accurately reported
- Coordinate all equipment assignments and logistics
- Review progress and performance weekly with the Project Manager
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably within electrical, utility, power delivery, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction industries.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered. May include Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- OSHA 30 Hour
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company's Zero Injury principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations

- Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients & customers
