Construction EstimatorSkillforce has teamed up with one of the leading commercial fence companies to find a Construction Estimator to work on commercial projects out of their Chantilly, VA office. This is a full-time position with this company.
Construction Estimator Responsibilities- Review project scope of work to ensure full understanding of client requirements, timelines, and deliverables prior to preparing estimates and proposals
- Analyze building plans, drawings, and specifications to identify material requirements, labor needs, and potential project challenges or cost impacts
- Compile detailed cost estimates and develop comprehensive proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate and competitive bids
- Communicate with clients throughout the bidding process, responding to questions, clarifying project details, and maintaining strong professional relationships to support successful bid outcomes
- Utilize Salesforce to manage all aspects of project tracking, including maintaining client records, tracking bid status, organizing project documentation, and monitoring communication history
Construction Estimator Qualifications- Minimum 5+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, construction administration, or a related role
- Strong ability to read and interpret building plans, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Proven experience preparing detailed cost estimates and project proposals with a high level of accuracy
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM/project management software for tracking projects, client communications, and bid activity
- Construction industry experience preferred; experience in commercial construction is a plus
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen to include marijuana testing
Construction Estimator Compensation & Benefits- Pay: Different pay structures based on commission and experience level, $60k base plus commission for new college grads, $80k base plus commission for more experience. Typical average after 1st year of around $100k with $120-$150k average after that.
