About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team in the Denver metro area. This position is ideal for someone with
3-5+ years of commercial general contracting estimating experience who is comfortable managing multiple bids, reviewing construction documents, and developing accurate project estimates from concept through bid submission.
This is an
in-office position working closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and the preconstruction team.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects
- Review architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and other construction plans and specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate material and labor costs
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential cost risks
- Develop competitive and accurate bid proposals
- Maintain estimating spreadsheets, databases, and project documentation
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and clarify scope
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews as needed
- Work closely with project management and preconstruction teams to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating to construction
- Track market conditions, material pricing, and subcontractor availability
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Qualifications - 3-5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Experience working for a General Contractor strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and subcontractor/vendor solicitation
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, OST, PlanSwift, or similar is a plus
