Construction Coordinator
  • Coordinate safe project execution and construction activities that support central projects at Kennecott

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Coordinator to support Central Projects by coordinating construction activities and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, contractors, operational teams, and other stakeholders to support safe and effective project execution.

This is a great opportunity for a construction professional to contribute to meaningful site projects while building strong partnerships across project delivery, commissioning, operational readiness, and operations teams.

Reporting to the Central Projects leadership team and working in a collaborative project environment at Kennecott, you will:

  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, logistics, resources, and construction activities to support safe and efficient project execution
  • Partner with project managers, contractors, commissioning, operational readiness, and operations stakeholders to align requirements and support smooth handover
  • Review designs, scopes of work, and construction plans for constructability, risks, work methods, and project readiness
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, quality expectations, permits, codes, and company policies
  • Prepare, maintain, and update project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, quality records, redlines, permits, and lessons learned
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve project risks, delays, non-conformances, and field issues to minimize disruption to timelines and business objectives
  • Support Critical Risk Management, field safety visibility, toolbox meetings, audits, inspections, incident management, and investigation activities
  • Track project performance, cost variations, schedule adherence, and resource needs while providing regular updates and recommendations to project leadership

  • Experience supporting civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, or multidisciplinary construction activities
  • Ability to coordinate with operational personnel, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams
  • Knowledge of Critical Risk Management, construction safety practices, permits, quality assurance, pre-commissioning, or commissioning activities
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, schedule coordination, documentation, and Microsoft Office skills
