Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing natural gas construction activities associated with new system installations, replacements, and related infrastructure projects. Ensures construction work is performed safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Partners with customers, contractors, engineering, field operations, vendors, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality project outcomes while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and monitor natural gas construction projects, including mainline installations and replacements, service line work, meter relocations, house piping, and related system improvements.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with construction plans, permitting requirements, testing procedures, tie-in plans, qualifications, certifications, and documentation standards.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and recommend solutions to support safe and efficient project execution.
  • Communicate construction schedules and project updates with customers, government agencies, municipalities, utilities, contractors, and internal partners.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with contractors, customers, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Monitor project materials, coordinate deliveries, and address material shortages, damages, or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate specialized construction resources, including welders, directional bore crews, stopple crews, service technicians, and other field support personnel.
  • Partner with engineering teams to manage project scope changes, cost estimate updates, and capital project reporting.
  • Maintain accurate construction records, including inspection documentation, testing records, billing support, mapping updates, as-built information, and project closeout documentation.
  • Utilize project management tools and technology to track project progress and communicate status updates.
  • Support emergency response activities, on-call assignments, overtime requirements, and other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications For Position

Construction Coordinator 2
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in natural gas construction, pipeline operations, utility construction, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work safely in construction environments and all weather conditions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn applicable construction standards, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, operational maps, and project documentation.
  • Willingness to work overtime, emergency assignments, and on-call responsibilities as needed.


Construction Coordinator 3
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in natural gas construction, pipeline operations, utility construction, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated experience independently coordinating construction projects and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of natural gas distribution operations, construction standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings, operational maps, and engineering plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with contractors, customers, municipalities, engineering teams, and field operations.
  • Strong project coordination, documentation, and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, emergency assignments, and on-call responsibilities as needed.


Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Experience in natural gas utility construction operations.
  • Construction inspection experience.
  • Experience maintaining construction field records and project documentation.
  • Experience overseeing pipeline and utility construction activities.
  • Experience coordinating or executing engineering-designed tie-in plans.
  • Experience working with contractors and external construction vendors.
  • Experience with Work Management Systems (WMS) and capital project administration.

Salary Range*:
$48.82 - $53.30

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
