The Role

Construction Civil / Utility Estimator
Core Responsibilities
  • Core Responsibilities
    • Prepare accurate, competitive bids for public-sector projects including underground utilities, water & sewer mains, lift stations, stormwater systems, roadway improvements. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment analysis, and material costing. Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Collaborate with team for constructability reviews and cost optimization. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors for timely, competitive pricing. Support project handoff to operations teams with clear estimates and assumptions.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with strong focus on underground utilities, sitework, or public infrastructure. Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil construction plans and specifications. Strong knowledge of Florida public bidding processes and requirements. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Proficient in Excel Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Florida for site visits as needed. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing thorough, professional bid packages.
