Overview

As the Configuration Manager working for Hepburn and Sons LLC, you will assist the PMS 443 Bridge Integration Program Office (BIPO) in support of Naval fleet readiness and ship modernization. You will be expected to perform independent, critical thought in evaluating program needs versus resources and provide cohesive guidance to the customer. You will be expected to establish, maintain, and promote good customer relationships and respond quickly to customer requests. 

 

 

Responsibilities
  • Own and drive monthly stakeholder synchronization meeting aimed at driving down backlog of Configuration Data Management (CDM) tasks
  • Act as the key point of contact for all stakeholder activities for configuration management issues
  • Support the review of the program Ships Change Documents (SCDs)
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders for timely document submission and approval
  • Develop and brief PMO leadership on key decision points
  • Ensure alignment of internal and external Configuration Management stakeholders towards common goals
  • Manage and facilitate processes and outcomes in support of Configuration Management including but not limited to:
    • LAR review and comment
    • ECP evaluation and analysis and transition of new ship systems to in-service
  • Ensure PMS 443, Bridge Integration Ship Control Systems (BISCS) leadership is prepared for and briefed (as needed) concerning all Configuration Review and Configuration Control Board meetings
  • Maintain and mature existing Configuration Management Plan for BISCS systems
  • Emphasis on end-of-life support and BISCS system transition are essential to Configuration Management and sustainment success
  • Develop and manage enterprise stakeholder relationships in support of Configuration Management
  • Create strategies and implement solutions to Configuration Management challenges and obstacles
  • Stand-up, facilitate and guide monthly BISCS Configuration Management Working Group with a focus on process improvement and optimization
  • Prepare Ad Hoc reports as required by the client
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of acquisition efforts
  • Advise on PPBE issues related to BISCS
  • Organize and maintain Program tracking files/tools on program status, actions items and issues
  • Attend meetings and program reviews, provide presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications
  • Provide timely and efficient responses for all urgent tasking
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, engineering, or other technical disciplines in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience with NAVSEA Program Office, Navy Shipbuilding, and/or defense systems, including first-hand experience with the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process
  • Experience managing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs, Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and Technical Data Packages (TDPs)
  • US Navy active duty experience or NAVSEA experience familiarity with Ship Control Systems and Bridge Systems Operations/Maintenance
  • Expert knowledge of SAE EIA-649C principles and NAVSEA-specific CM policies
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
  • Strong customer, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • <10% travel requirement 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PMS 443, BISCS portfolio (Acquisition, Modernization, and Sustainment for Ship Control Systems; Bridge Design Integration; Bridge Lighting Systems; Bridge-to-Bridge (B2B radio); Voyage Data Recorder (VDR))
  • Familiarity with tools such as CDM-OA, CMPro/PLM, NDE applications, Teamcenter (TcE)

Salary range- $140,000-$165,000
