Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Configuration Management Specialist to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command's infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the IT Service Management (ITSM) Configuration Management process to identify, track, and manage the baseline Configuration Items (CIs) in an enterprise environment through their lifecycle for the Cloud team

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with applying configuration management to cloud environments.
  • Experience with supporting DoD programs
  • Experience with using configuration management tools for complex projects.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and milestones
  • Ability to develop engineering design and change artifacts to facilities configuration management processes
  • Experience organizing technical knowledge bases
  • Understanding standardized documentation, including establishing standardizing existing documentation to meet customer requirements
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies
  • Work experience with backlogs, backlog grooming, and managing backlog priorities
  • Implement the configuration management processes and procedures according to the Enterprise Configuration Management SOP.
  • Review released engineering change requests and data to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.
  • In depth understanding of and experience with, deployments of various systems to AWS utilizing both Cloud and nonnative services
  • Applicant should be comfortable talking to AWS services available in GovCloud
  • Ability to interact with high level customers and involved in collaboration, design, implementation, and involvement of project planning.
  • Experience with sprint cycles and sprint planning


This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours. However, employee may be required to provide after-hours and weekend support during planned or emergency events.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS
  • Ten (10) years or more experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must have at least one of these IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP
  • Computing Environment (CE) certification AWS Cloud Practitioner ( Course CLF-C02)
  • Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs
  • Exposure to cloud formation templates


Desired Qualifications :

  • MA/MS
  • Experience working in a managed service environment with customer facing applications and support.
  • Understanding of scripting languages, ability to review code and merge requests.
  • Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Understanding of: Infrastructure as code
  • Understanding of Devops tools, Gitlab, Artifactory, etc..
  • Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development methods/practices
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation
  • Experience in working with team members to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
  • Experience working in a high paced environment, managing CM expectations for simulatanious projects
