Full Job Description
We are seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist who will provide technical expertise to plan, execute, and oversee configuration management activities across complex systems and weapon platforms. This role ensures effective control of system baselines, documentation, engineering changes, and technical data throughout the system life cycle. The specialist conducts CM analyses, supports audits, evaluates engineering changes, and ensures compliance with applicable military standards, policies, and international agreements. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities
  • Review configuration management packages and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate recommended configuration corrective actions.
  • Analyze and monitor CM budgeting, planning, regulations, and program impacts.
  • Support configuration and technical audits, CCBs, and evaluate contractor audit plans.
  • Develop and analyze specifications, perform sensitivity analyses, and support baseline allocation per MIL-STD-961.
  • Conduct engineering evaluations; generate and recommend ECPs, RFWs, RFDs, and provide approval recommendations.
  • Prepare engineering data including risk assessments, economic analyses, cost estimates, and airworthiness qualification recommendations.
  • Provide technical expertise for CM programs, plans, performance specifications, and technical data packages (TDPs).
  • Conduct engineering analysis of technical documentation in support of procurements.
  • Identify and document characteristics of hardware/software configuration items and manage changes across the life cycle.
  • Implement CM procedures for identification, verification audits, change control, and status accounting.
  • Review ECPs and technical documentation for foreign disclosure determination.
  • Plan and coordinate CM programs in alignment with directives, policies, and international agreements.
  • Manage all aspects of CM documentation including preparation, release, changes, baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL), and CCB participation.
  • Plan and execute CM audits and prepare/update CM documentation for assigned systems and subsystems.


Required
  • BS or BA degree
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Experience in configuration management for complex systems or military platforms.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-961 and other CM-related military standards and policies.
  • Proficiency in evaluating engineering change proposals, waivers, deviations, and technical data packages.
  • Ability to conduct CM audits, manage baselines, and control configuration documentation.
  • Ability to develop CM plans, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting DoD/DoW acquisition, engineering programs (military rotary wing of fixed wing platform experience is highly preferred).
  • Must have an in-scope DoD/DoW Secret security clearance
