Full Job Description
The Configuration Management Build Engineer reports up through the JLCCTC Configuration Manager and supports the Software Design Team as Build Manager. The role entails being the central point of control and contact for software build efforts and would be responsible for coordination, timeline and quality gating of delivery to test and production with the appropriate stakeholders. Responsible for planning, analyzing and developing software build solutions to integrate technical, business and system needs. Responsible for the integrity of the software build and promotion processes to test. You would assist in the overall quality of code versioning and integration across development, test, and production environments. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide software product build configuration management
  • Administer and maintain version control, version control software and code repository.
  • Provide oversight in the branching and versioning of code build to the development staff.
  • Manage Git software repositories, including the management of branches for development and release and a CI/CD process.
  • Assist in maintaining a build automation system
  • Audit configuration controlled artifacts.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of standard development and test environments.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving automated code deployment practices.
  • Ensure complete release notes pertaining to a development "Bill of Materials" and work closely with the test organizations to manage software movement through test and production environment.
  • Develop software project configuration management documents - Computer Software Product End-items and Software Version Description documents
  • Work in close coordination with the software and testing team
  • Troubleshoot system issues
  • Work collaboratively with a group of highly motivated people
  • Must be detailed oriented

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
  • 2+ years of Configuration Management experience
  • If no degree, 5 years' systems analysis and design and/or software development experience.
  • Linux, Jenkins, Git and Jira experience
  • Working knowledge of at least two operating systems/platforms.
  • Build / Deploy experience
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes and tooling as it relates to infrastructure code and applications
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools
  • Great communication and eagerness to continue learning
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a DOD clearance
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required
