Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Configuration Engineer based in Reamstown, PA. The Configuration Engineer is responsible for ensuring that product structures, BOMs, change orders, and configuration documentation are precise, up to date, and fully aligned with operational and engineering requirements..

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $80,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

What you will do
  • Develop, maintain, and manage product configurations, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Sustain item master integrity, Maintain product databases and ERP systems, to ensure accurate configuration records
  • Lead and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring timely review, approval, and implementation across departments
  • Assess impact of configuration changes on manufacturing, supply chain, and quality processes
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure alignment on product changes and configurations. Sustain Customer system pricing of Configured Finished Goods


What we require
  • 5+ years of previous configuration engineering, manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience and understanding of business principles, strategic planning, critical thinking, budgeting, execution, KPIs, resource allocation, project management, etc.
  • Strong technical expertise in ERP Systems (e.g. AS400, SAP, Windchill
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes


What we prefer
  • Certification in Configuration Management II (CMII) or Configuration Management Process Improvement Center (CMPIC)
  • Previous experience in security access solutions, architectural building materials or the construction industry
  • Previous experience managing projects from inception through post implementation
