Job Summary: The Conduit Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Conduit department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality conversion of aluminum extrusions into finished conduit products. This role drives operational excellence through strong leadership, continuous improvement, and accountability for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance while developing a high-performing team. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
What you will be doing- Foster and champion a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
- Lead all aspects of Conduit department operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
- Drive operational performance through accountability for productivity, scrap reduction, quality, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Develop, coach, and lead supervisors, team leaders, and production employees to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.
- Manage departmental budgets, spending controls, and capital planning to support both short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Partner closely with planning, sales, and cross-functional leaders to meet customer expectations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What will make you successful?Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical discipline, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in aluminum manufacturing, extrusion, or conduit production processes.
- Experience with capital planning, budgeting, and cost management.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and effectively manage employee performance.
- Experience in aluminum manufacturing, extrusion, or conduit production processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production processes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Experience using data and reporting tools to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive results.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Experience managing quality standards, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma training or experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems and manufacturing quality standards.
- Bilingual skills, particularly English and Spanish
