Position Title: Condition Inspector

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Condition Inspector

Coldale, Alberta, Canada

Responsible for supporting the reliability program at Coaldale through the use of predictive maintenance to monitor the health and lifecycle of critical assets. Predictive maintenance technology may include but not limited to vibration analysis, ultrasonics, thermography, and oil analysis. This position will be reporting to the Process Mechanical Supervisor

What you'll be doing.

  • Dayshift Monday to Friday


  • Help with Shift Coverage during vacation and staff outages.


  • Actively contribute to the "TEAM" by working diligently to correct and prevent any equipment problems where there is a safety or food safety risk or where there is the potential to limit OEE.


  • Conduct regular equipment monitoring using various tools and techniques to detect potential failure or assess the health of equipment.


  • Analyze results from the equipment monitoring and flag concerns with results to leads and supervisors.


  • Help install condition-based monitoring systems on equipment.


  • Complete any non-routine inspection requests as required.


  • Liaise with reliability engineers, maintenance, and production teams to link condition monitoring findings and other maintenance strategies.


  • Actively convert planned preventative activity to condition inspection activities.


  • Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems effectively.


  • Must comply with GMP's, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures.


  • Must be able and willing to promote continuous improvement of workplace safety.


  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.


  • Lead and conduct R.C.A investigations


  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.


  • Maintains Safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the manager.


  • Other duties as required by the needs of the business.


This position is based in a regulated manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Employees must consistently follow all GMP, safety, and hygiene requirements, including restrictions on jewelry, personal items, and attire while on the production floor. Compliance with these standards is an essential duty of the role to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a CI Technician


  • Specialized knowledge in condition monitoring is considered an asset.


  • Basic understanding of reliability principles


  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude


  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.


  • Be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID's, equipment manuals and other relevant material.


  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.


  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.


  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems


  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others


  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft office and adobe pdf


  • The ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and written sentences.


  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

Compensation Package : - Starting at 52.48 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
