Computer Systems Analyst (Cyber) - Associate
Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Security Clearance
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000/year

We are seeking a motivated Computer Systems Analyst (Cyber) - Associate to support cyber research, systems analysis, and secure information technology operations in a Department of Defense environment. In this role, you will analyze science, engineering, business, and data processing challenges to develop and implement solutions for complex applications, system administration, and network-related issues. You will support systems management and integration activities by evaluating computer system capabilities, workflows, and operational limitations while identifying opportunities to improve system performance and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will assist in analyzing operational activities using mathematical, statistical, engineering, and operational research techniques to support informed decision-making and mission success. You will apply technical principles, theories, and concepts within the Cyber Research field to develop practical, innovative solutions to complex technical challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Candidates must possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and hold a DoD 8570 Technical Level I certification (or equivalent) to support mission-critical cybersecurity operations.
Position Responsibilities
• Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions for complex application, system administration, and network challenges.
• Perform systems management and integration functions while evaluating existing computer systems, workflows, and operational limitations.
• Assist in analyzing operational activities using mathematical, statistical, engineering, and operational research techniques to support decision-making.
• Apply technical principles, theories, and cybersecurity concepts to support complex cyber research and information assurance initiatives.
• Maintain accurate COMSEC inventory records and submit required accounting reports in accordance with NSA and DoD policies and procedures.
• Administer initial COMSEC briefings and debriefings while maintaining all required documentation.
• Complete required NSA COMSEC training within established performance timelines.
• Program and distribute COMSEC devices, including Sectéra vIPer Universal Secure Phones, TACLANE encryptors, and other secure communications equipment.
• Order, receive, load, and manage COMSEC keying material utilizing Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Simple Key Loader (SKL), and related key management devices.
• Ensure COMSEC accounts remain compliant with NSA policies and applicable security requirements.
• Provide technical and administrative support for COMSEC equipment holders while documenting activities within the DSS Service Support System.
• Evaluate new COMSEC equipment and secure communication devices for operational implementation.
• Maintain sufficient COMSEC equipment inventory to support emergency operations and replacement of equipment requiring repair.
• Provide technical support to facilitate interoperability of secure communications equipment.
• Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for COMSEC activities.
• Perform circuit re-keying activities as required.
• Assist in properly storing, managing, and maintaining accountability of COMSEC materials and assets within KMI.
• Maintain COMSEC access lists for designated controlled and closed areas.
• Ensure prompt and accurate preparation, review, and submission of account correspondence, messages, and accounting reports.
• Conduct periodic compliance checks to verify personnel security clearances.
• Develop and deliver COMSEC training materials and user instructions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related technical field with less than 5 years of experience.
• Associate degree (AA) or 2-year technical school degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
