Computer Scientist

Serve as the principal Computer Science Technical Expert and Project Manager (PM) delivering local, organic software engineering support for critical space systems program offices at the Peterson Space Force Base (SFB) complex. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will guide technical development, oversee project execution, and evaluate software design activities that directly power the nation's space domain superiority.

- Frontline Space Superiority: Directly engineer, guide, and sustain software for cutting-edge space systems operating at the heart of the U.S. Space Force mission.

- Dual Technical & PM Leadership: Bridge elite computer science expertise with project management authority-owning both technical design integrity and program success.

- Mentor & Shape Engineering Teams: Guide, evaluate, and elevate the design and development work of engineering teams across every phase of the software lifecycle.

- PM & Execution: Exercise operational and project management responsibility over assigned software efforts, ensuring deliverables meet cost, schedule, and technical milestones.

- Technical Authority: Serve as the organization's recognized expert in computer science, providing strategic technical direction and resolving complex architectural challenges.

- Lifecycle Engineering Oversight: Guide, evaluate, and review the design, coding, and implementation activities of development teams across multi-phase projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain a security clearance

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours

- Designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)

- Obtain and maintain Cyberspace certification
