Experience in product design and manufacturing technology.
Proficient with 2D drawing and 3D modeling using SolidWorks, PDM, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, FEA, and other design and analysis tools.
Design experience with sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, casting, etc.
Knowledge and experience in metal and polymer material selection.
Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to apply hand calculations/handbook methods and FEA modeling where appropriate.
Strong hands-on ability to build test samples and operate test equipment.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Strong understanding of failure modes and analysis, including how to set up analysis and test methods to ensure failure modes are clearly understood and margin to failure is quantified.
Comfortable developing test procedures, conducting functional testing, interpreting results, and correlating them with product performance.

Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel (including spreadsheets/databases).
Experience with Value Engineering in product design updates for cost reduction is preferred.
