Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Consultant to join our Compliance team in a full-time, in-house capacity. This role plays a key part in helping American Century Investments maintain a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and regulatory compliance. As a trusted compliance partner, you will co-lead the firm's Code of Ethics program and support a variety of corporate compliance initiatives across the organization.

You will collaborate with business partners and senior leaders to monitor compliance risks, investigate potential issues, enhance controls, and drive process improvements that support our evolving regulatory environment.

This role reports to the Code of Ethics Compliance Manager.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Co-lead the firm's Code of Ethics program by monitoring employee personal trading activity, investigating potential violations, and partnering with stakeholders to promote adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.

  • Prepare clear and concise reporting, responses, and communications for the Code of Ethics Committee, Fund Boards of Directors, client due diligence requests, and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop and deliver training programs that increase employee awareness and understanding of compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor gifts, entertainment, and business expense activity and support the ongoing execution and enhancement of the firm's Corporate Compliance Program.

  • Identify emerging regulatory requirements and compliance risks, assess their impact on the organization, and design or strengthen controls to support compliance obligations.

  • Leverage technology, automation, and industry best practices to improve compliance processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the compliance program.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 or more years of experience in a compliance based role at a financial services or highly regulated company.

  • Working knowledge of the securities regulatory environment and a commitment to maintaining and expanding knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, and industry practices.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, identify risks, make well-informed decisions, and document findings appropriately.

  • Experience using compliance technology platforms and leveraging technology to improve processes, productivity, and user experience.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with employees and leaders across the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Assets (Preferred)

  • Experience with StarCompliance or other compliance monitoring systems.
