Full Job Description
Develop, implement, and oversee the UAGM Health (UAGMH) compliance and quality program, ensuring adherence to applicable federal and Puerto Rico healthcare laws and regulations, and institutional policies. Develop and maintain the governance framework for SOPs and Job Aids, ensuring that documentation is up-to-date, version-controlled, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Monitor compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards. Conduct compliance risk assessments and develop breach response protocols and mitigation plans in coordination with the leadership of the clinics. Conduct regular internal audits and monitor clinical and administrative operations to identify compliance gaps and areas of regulatory risk. Design and conduct quality audits of clinical documentation, patient care processes, and outcomes to ensure alignment with evidence-based standards and accreditation requirements. Serve as a liaison with external regulators and review boards on compliance-related matters and coordinate responses to regulatory audits, inspections, and investigations. Analyze clinical, operational, and patient experience data. Monitor patient safety events and corrective action plans. Develop quality indicators, scorecards, dashboards, and performance metrics, and report compliance metrics and issues to Deans of Specialized Schools, institutional leadership and committees. Support the monitoring of clinical and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all clinical lines to track quality of care and patient safety. Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives. Collaborate with Information Technology and leadership of each clinic on data governance and regulatory compliance considerations during the selection and implementation of EHR/PMS and CRM systems. Monitor regulatory changes in healthcare regulations at the federal and Puerto Rico levels and communicate the operational impact to institutional leadership.

Requisitos

Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or equivalent. Five (5) years or more of experience in regulatory compliance and quality processes related to healthcare services. Knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH and other applicable federal health regulations. Knowledge of the Puerto Rico and federal health regulatory framework, including SARAFS/Health Facilities Division requirements, and specialty boards of examiners. Knowledge of quality management frameworks and methodologies in healthcare services and the monitoring of quality KPIs/metrics. Strong skills in auditing, monitoring, risk assessment, regulatory interpretation, data analysis, and reporting. Skills in policy and procedure development, process improvement, and quality management software and EHR systems. Demonstrated proficiency in enterprise productivity tools and remote communication technologies to support the functions of the position and provide services both in person and remotely. Ability to express verbally and in writing effectively in English and Spanish.
