OverviewPosition OverviewAt Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the Complementary Specialist is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across Fastening, Tools, and Consumable product categories.
This role partners closely with field sales teams, product management, and strategic vendors to identify opportunity gaps, develop targeted sales initiatives, and increase attachment rates of complementary products. Acting as both a product and commercial specialist, the Complementary Specialist supports key accounts, enables sales teams, and executes category-focused strategies that expand wallet share and deliver measurable growth.
Responsibilities and QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesSales Growth & Strategy- Drive revenue growth across Fastening, Tools, and Consumables through increased attachment rates and category penetration
- Identify high-impact sales opportunities using customer data, margin analysis, and category insights
- Develop and execute account-level strategies to expand complementary product share
Cross - Functional Collaboration- Collaborate with Product Managers on assortment, pricing, promotions, and go-to-market strategies
- Act as the primary liaison with vendor partners to drive joint initiatives and pipeline growth
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to close performance gaps and outperform plan
Customer & Market Impact- Strengthen key account relationships by positioning FBM as a value-driven solutions partner
- Increase customer wallet share through bundled and complementary product offerings
- Track and measure initiative performance, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI
Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous- Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and corporate objectives
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, category management, product specialization, or commercial strategy
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, attachment rates, or category expansion
- Strong knowledge of Fasteners, Tools, and/or Industrial Consumables preferred
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience executing sales campaigns, promotions, or vendor-sponsored initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and influence at all levels
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Willingness to travel to support sales teams, key accounts, and vendor engagements
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics)

CompensationThe listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
- Base: $90,000 - $125,000 per year
- Bonus: xx% Target Bonus
