Community Finance Senior Manager, Capital Officer (Originations) - Mid-Atlantic
Role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager with a demonstrated track record in affordable housing origination to join a team focused on sourcing mission- and strategy-aligned Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) multi-family housing development opportunities. The ideal candidate brings established developer and syndicator relationships from day one, sound judgment operating within regulatory and credit constraints, and market intelligence to identify opportunities. Through your expertise and relationship-management skills, you will build upon our strong industry reputation while challenging the status quo and actively contributing to our next chapter of impact and innovation.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Identify, source and lead the origination efforts of construction to permanent debt and LIHTC equity investment opportunities
Cultivate and develop deep relationships with Syndicator and developer partners, leveraging existing industry connections
Provide market intelligence to inform sourcing strategy and deal flow
Partner with internal teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and credit policies.
Contribute to process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Represent Capital One in relevant industry board and community engagements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in business development, underwriting, asset management, or portfolio management or any combination of the four in the field of affordable housing or commercial real estate
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in affordable housing or community development
3+ years of experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)
4+ years of experience in community development lending or investments

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Agency UW & PM III
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
