Job Description:

Cranston Ridge Medical Clinic is seeking a family physician to join its interprofessional primary care team in Calgary, Alberta, through a sponsored physician position. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centred family medicine, with an emphasis on continuity of care, preventive health, management of acute presentations, and ongoing care for patients with chronic and complex conditions.

Responsibilities will include conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing and managing medical conditions, arranging and reviewing investigations, prescribing treatment, coordinating specialist referrals, and ensuring appropriate follow-up. The physician will maintain accurate electronic medical records and support patient education and shared decision-making

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurse prescribers, medical office assistants, and pharmacy collaborators. The clinic's team-based model integrates RN prescriber-led triage and management of appropriate presentations with ongoing family physician care, supporting timely access, coordinated follow-up, and escalation of clinical concerns. The physician will contribute to collaborative case discussions and quality-improvement activities while practising within their authorized scope and clinic policies.

Qualifications:

• Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA.
• Must hold a medical degree (MD or equivalent).
• Relevant training and clinical experience in family medicine or general practice, with demonstrated competence in assessing and managing acute presentations, chronic conditions, and preventive health needs across the lifespan.
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, accurate clinical documentation, and a commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centred care are essential.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurse prescribers, and medical office assistants.
• A commitment to continuity of care, appropriate consultation and referral, ongoing professional development, and quality improvement is expected.
