Career Opportunity: Communications Specialist- Capital Projects

Location: Prince George, BC

Employment Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week)

The Opportunity: The Communications Specialist is a member of the CSFS Communications team acting as the focal point of communications contact in the development of special and capital projects in addition to the provision of day-to-day communication and public affairs services for CSFS, including:
  • Communications assistance with CSFS projects and services of interest to partners, including but not limited to: communities served, public audiences, community groups, interest and advocacy groups, various levels of government, and media.
  • Assisting in the implementation of strategic communications priorities established within CSFS' strategic and operational plans.
  • Providing communications support to significant projects both internal and external to CSFS.
  • Assisting in community relations, engagement and consultation activities and health promotion and improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting in emergency communications activities, as required.

What You Will Bring to The Role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of professional communications experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a healthcare, child and family services, government or government organization, not-for-profit or corporate environment is considered an asset.
  • Membership in and/or accreditation from IABC or CPRS would be considered an asset.

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $39.7452 to $51.4710 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants' role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
