What You Will Do:Guidehouse is seeking a Communications and Content Specialist to support a federal public health client. This role will develop, edit, and manage clear, accurate, accessible, and clearance-ready materials that support public health programs, system implementation, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination activities. The role may support CDC DHP-related communications, including web content, social media materials, fact sheets, summaries, stakeholder-facing materials, and other products that communicate HIV prevention data and program information.
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical, programmatic, and public-facing content.
- Translate complex public health, technical, data, and program information into clear written materials.
- Prepare clearance-ready documents, briefings, summaries, web content, fact sheets, and stakeholder-facing materials.
- Support content development for public health dissemination products, including materials that may be used on DHP intranet/internet sites or other approved communication channels.
- Support communications for system rollouts, program updates, stakeholder engagement, and data modernization activities.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, consistent, accessible, and aligned with client requirements.
- Support Section 508-aligned content development and usability considerations for web-ready and public-facing materials.
- Maintain documentation repositories, content trackers, assignment logs, and web-ready materials.
- Support clearance tracking and coordination for materials requiring Government review and approval prior to external release.
- Support development of executive-level communications, visuals, reports, and client-ready deliverables.
- Interpret client needs and translate them into tangible written products.
- Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
What You Will Need:- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications, technical writing, public health content development, stakeholder communications, or a related field.
- Experience developing written materials for technical, programmatic, or public health audiences.
- Strong writing, editing, content management, and quality review skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, audience-appropriate products.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high-quality deliverables under deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint or similar collaboration tools.
What Would Be Nice To Have:- Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or another federal health agency.
- Experience supporting HIV prevention, public health data dissemination, health communications, or public-facing public health content.
- Experience with federal clearance processes, structured document review, or content approval tracking.
- Experience developing executive-level briefings, visuals, reports, web content, fact sheets, or social media content.
- Experience supporting public health programs, data modernization, system implementation, stakeholder engagement, or dissemination activities.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility, web content standards, federal plain language principles, or usability guidelines.
- Experience maintaining documentation repositories, content trackers, assignment logs, or web-ready materials.
- Strong preference for candidates located in the Houston, TX, San Antonio, TX, Atlanta, GA or Huntsville, AL areas.
The annual salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$113,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
