Job Summary and Requirements

Resumes will be screened at regular intervals until the position is filled or the competition closes, whichever is earliest.This posting will be used to fill 1 term full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly ending November 27, 2026.As a member of the EMR Communications team, you will work closely with department branches to develop public communications that effectively reach Yukoners.
As a Communications Analyst, you will develop products such as news releases, speeches, online content, media responses, and marketing campaigns. You will also provide media relations, develop and implement communication strategies, and support internal department communications. Through your work, you support our commitment to a transparent, accountable, and citizen-focused government.

- Post-secondary diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, public administration, or a related field
- Experience developing a full-range of communications materials such as speaking notes, media releases and communication strategies
- Experience with government approval processes and responding to short-term requests
- Experience in media relations and/or public engagement
- Experience working in the field of resource management may be considered an asset
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach when working in teams and delivering client service
- Ability to work independently, self-manage workloads, meet tight deadlines and develop results with broad direction to produce desired outcomes for the department
- Awareness of political sensitivity and the ability to deal with complex, strategic issues, heavy workloads and multiple priorities
- Knowledge of web-based communications platforms
Additional Information:Job Requirements Occasional travel may be required. Working evenings and weekends may be required at times.
