Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement aluminum extrusion commodity strategy based on market knowledge.
  • Initiate RFQs, perform cost analysis, and assess supplier performance for total cost comparison.
  • Manage RFQs to ensure alignment with commodity strategy and achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts related to commodity pricing and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare, process, and manage requisitions and contracts while resolving legal and supplier issues.
  • Develop new suppliers in accordance with Constellium's new supplier development procedures.
  • Address vendor grievances and claims against suppliers effectively.
  • Evaluate supplier cost structures to ensure best overall value and negotiate commercial aspects accordingly.
  • Coordinate supplier development programs and keep senior management informed through updates.

Job Summary

The Commodity Manager - Aluminum Extrusions, will be responsible for leading all end-to-end aluminum extrusion business relations for the full Constellium ASNA business enterprise. Responsibility includes management of incumbent and new business awards, and program responsibilities and design changes. The role will be responsible for the development and strategic execution of the aluminum strategy and coordinating all activities related to materials, parts, supplies, equipment and tools required to maintain a cost-efficient operation. This includes negotiation of agreements and implementation/management of existing long-term agreements. The Commodity Manager will work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify solutions that support operational requirements while reducing cost. This position will report to the Director of Procurement.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements the aluminum extrusion commodity strategy with deep knowledge of aluminum extrusion market.
  • Initiates requests for quotes, performs cost analysis, supplier assessment, supplier performance, for total cost comparison.
  • Manages RFQs to the supply base according to the commodity strategy to support business functions includes responsible for setting cost reduction targets and obtaining those cost goals.
  • Develops the strategy, bidding, negotiating and managing of commodity contracts, pricing and equipment requirements for the suppliers and Constellium facilities.
  • Negotiate, prepare, process and manage requisitions and manage supply contracts and purchase orders for areas of responsibility including addressing contract language matters with legal counsel and suppliers.
  • Develops new suppliers as necessary according to established Constellium new supplier development procedures.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
  • Evaluates supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value and negotiates all commercial aspects of the purchase and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines (Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, etc.).
  • Coordinates supplier development, consolidation reduction, and VA/VE programs.
  • Keeps senior management informed of commercial issues through communications and presentations.

  • Result orientation, accountability, negotiation, problem solving, project and change management, and team working/building (required)
  • Plex (ERP) system or Similar experience (preferred)
  • US and International travel (required)
