Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to work full-time on site with our client located near Santa Clara, California.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead site Mechanical commissioning activities for the client operations business unit, following the project-specific commissioning plan (HPEP), including incorporation of key stakeholder requirements (Project/Operations/Facilities) to ensure overall team success.
  • Manage and communicate commissioning risks in cooperation with the project General Contractor and client construction/Commissioning teams.
  • Ensure documentation for all commissioning activities is maintained and submitted via the completions database and meets all performance parameters of the plant.
  • Review mechanical commissioning plans in alignment with ASHRAE standards and client specifications.
  • Monitor quality assurance initiatives, including installation & assembly, alignment, cleanliness, integrity, etc. of the mechanical systems.
  • Ensure our clients' codes, standards, and specifications are followed during construction/commissioning and acceptance of mechanical systems.
  • Leverage your extensive background in project management and construction to provide specialized expertise and guidance to the project teams.
  • Represent the client during design reviews, ensuring mechanical systems meet project requirements.
  • Review and execute verification checklists and test procedures.
  • Attends commissioning meetings and works with the manager to resolve issues.
  • Report to the client Operations team weekly.
  • Support field execution, including job walks and site observations.
  • Follow EHS guidelines and site safety requirements.
  • Review and comment on Sequence Of Operations (SOO) documents.

The salary offered for this role is between $159,000 and $244,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in leading mechanical systems construction and commissioning operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related subject from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience in mechanical systems engineering with commissioning experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to understand complex problems and distil the message into a clear plan.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure.
  • Strong background in all aspects of mechanical systems requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, PFD's, and mechanical systems technical documentation.
  • Semiconductor/Datacenter or advanced technology industry experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Travel duration, if any, is based on project location.
  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction commissioning activities
