Overview

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be remote.

 

 

Responsible for performing commercial appraisal review and related valuation activities to support the bank's commercial real estate valuation function. Evaluates commercial appraisal reports and related valuation products for regulatory compliance, technical adequacy, and overall credibility while working collaboratively with appraisers to resolve technical valuation issues and providing valuation guidance to bank employees. Contributes to appraisal engagement activities, collateral risk management, operational improvements, and continuous enhancement of the bank's valuation processes.

Responsibilities
  • Independently performs commercial appraisal review and related valuation activities by applying sound professional judgment to evaluate commercial appraisal reports and related valuation products for regulatory compliance, technical adequacy, overall credibility, and supportable valuation conclusions.
  • Determines the acceptability and reliability of appraisal and valuation products for the bank's intended use by identifying material valuation risks, assessing the adequacy of supporting analyses, and documenting review conclusions and recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively with appraisers to resolve technical valuation issues, communicate review findings, and obtain credible, well-supported appraisal reports that satisfy applicable laws, regulations, appraisal standards, and bank requirements.
  • Provides valuation guidance and technical consultation to bank staff regarding appraisal-related matters, valuation issues, regulatory requirements, and bank policies to support lending decisions and effective collateral risk management.
  • Performs appraisal engagement and related valuation activities, including assignment scoping, engagement coordination, and other valuation support functions, to promote appropriate valuation solutions, effective risk management, and efficient delivery of valuation services.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the bank's commercial real estate valuation function by identifying opportunities to enhance appraisal review practices, valuation methodologies, operational processes, and service delivery while supporting quality, consistency, efficiency, and sound risk management.
  • Maintains professional competency through continuing education and professional development.

 

Qualifications Education

Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or other applicable. (Required)

Experience

5 or more years experience appraising and/or reviewing various commercial property types as a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. (Required)

1 or more years experience in real estate collateral valuation and risk management within a regulated real estate, banking, or financial services environment. (Preferred)

Certifications

State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser Certification. (Required)

Professional Real Estate Appraiser Designation or Advanced Candidacy. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate appraisal principles, valuation methodologies, appraisal review practices, market analysis techniques, USPAP, and appraisal-related regulatory requirements applicable to commercial real estate valuation to identify and address valuation-related risks. (Required)

The salary range may vary based on geographic location.

 

The salary range for this position is $81,200.00 - $135,300.00 annually.

This job is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive compensation plan subject to individual and company performance.
