The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a Commercial Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to join our Automation, Integration & System Protection (AISP) team. This is a newly created, leadership role responsible for building and leading a high-performing sourcing team that procures and delivers the SCADA and metering equipment powering our engineering product delivery.

This role combines commercial ownership - including financial responsibility for the equipment portfolio - with hands-on team leadership and close partnership with engineering, proposal, and Enterprise Procurement Team. The Commercial Supply Chain & Procurement Manager sits within AISP department, giving equipment sourcing decisions a direct line to project delivery and technical requirements.

What You'll Do

• Build, lead, and grow a high-performing equipment sourcing team dedicated to SCADA and metering procurement, including hiring, coaching, professional development, and resource planning as the team scales.
• Own and manage the equipment financials - forecasting, revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin targets - balancing lowest total cost against supply resilience and delivery risk.
• Develop and execute an equipment sourcing strategy, including supplier spend diversification, supplier capacity/capability balance, and supply chain risk management across the SCADA and metering portfolio.
• Own supplier relationship management: agreements, terms & conditions, performance monitoring and reporting, payment terms, and bulk pricing negotiations.
• Build and continuously improve core sourcing processes across the project lifecycle - quoting, requirements flow-down, supplier selection, inventory planning, PO management, order fulfillment coordination, end-of-life management, and change order execution.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate technical specifications and bills of materials into sourcing requirements, ensuring procured equipment meets project design, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Incorporate supply chain cybersecurity and regulatory considerations (e.g., NERC CIP supply chain risk management requirements) into supplier selection and sourcing decisions for SCADA and metering systems.
• Partner with the Enterprise Supply Chain team on shared capabilities: supplier and subconsultant onboarding, strategic pricing negotiations, logistics, receiving, inventory management, ERP enablement, supplier corrective action programs, and supply chain analytics/KPIs.
• Ensure the consistent application of Supply Chain best practices and adherence to Ulteig's Supplier Management program.
• Maintain market intelligence on SCADA/metering commodity pricing, lead times, supply chain risk, and evolving contract terms and conditions.
• Partner with proposal and sales teams to incorporate real-time pricing, timely contracting, and client feedback into proposals and project execution.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate equipment delivery risk across active projects.

What We Expect From You

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of procurement and contract negotiation experience in the energy sector, spanning power delivery, process automation, protection & control, and/or renewable energy infrastructure.
• Prior people-leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and knowledge of equipment and service supply contracts for major infrastructure projects, including the contractual risks inherent to them.
• Proven ability to evaluate and mitigate risk related to price, schedule, and quality.
• Strong track record of managing relationships with external suppliers, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across engineering, sales, finance, and Enterprise Supply Chain.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in resolving procurement issues that affect project schedule and budget.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must possess a valid Canadian Driver's License and ability to meet company driving standards
• Must have the ability to travel across the United States and Canada
• Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracting experience, ideally within a consulting/engineering services organization.
• Direct experience procuring SCADA, metering, or related automation and protection & control equipment.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP or other utility supply chain cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
• Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP/procurement systems.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $110,000 CAD - $145,000 CAD
