Full Job Description
Meta's data center infrastructure depends on a resilient, cost-effective supply base for power and cooling equipment. The Sourcing and Commodity Management team is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that secure supply, optimize total cost of ownership, and enable the on-time delivery of critical infrastructure at global scale. In this role, you will lead strategic sourcing for power and cooling equipment categories - including uninterruptible power supplies, switchgear, transformers, precision cooling units, and related mechanical and electrical systems - partnering closely with engineering, supply chain, and construction teams to shape supplier relationships and category direction across Meta's data center portfolio.

Responsibilities

Define and execute multi-year category strategies for power and cooling infrastructure equipment, including market analysis, supplier segmentation, and sourcing roadmaps aligned to data center capacity growth
• Lead competitive sourcing events, contract negotiations, and supplier selection processes for high-value power and cooling equipment categories such as UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, CRAC and CRAH units, and cooling towers
• Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, conducting regular business reviews to drive performance improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and capacity
• Analyze total cost of ownership across the power and cooling supply base, identifying and executing cost reduction and value engineering opportunities in collaboration with engineering and design teams
• Assess and mitigate supply chain risks associated with power and cooling equipment, including geopolitical exposure, single-source dependencies, long-lead-time components, and commodity price volatility
• Partner with data center engineering, construction, and capacity planning teams to align sourcing strategies with technology roadmaps and infrastructure deployment schedules
• Establish and track supplier capacity commitments to ensure supply availability supports Meta's global data center build pipeline
• Drive supplier development initiatives to qualify new sources of supply, expand geographic diversity, and improve supply chain resilience for critical power and cooling categories
• Develop executive-level reporting and category insights, communicating sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and risk posture to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and sustainability teams to structure contracts that reflect Meta's commercial, compliance, and environmental requirements

Minimum Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement for power and cooling infrastructure equipment or related mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience leading end-to-end sourcing processes including RFx development, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and contract execution for capital equipment categories
• Experience developing category strategies that incorporate market intelligence, total cost of ownership analysis, and supply risk assessment
• Experience managing supplier relationships and driving measurable improvements in supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery
• Experience communicating complex sourcing strategies and supplier performance data to cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience sourcing power and cooling equipment specifically for hyperscale or large-scale data center environments, including familiarity with UPS, switchgear, transformers, and precision cooling systems
• Experience applying should-cost modeling or value engineering methodologies to capital equipment categories
• Experience working cross-functionally with data center engineering or construction teams to align procurement strategy with infrastructure design and deployment timelines
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Familiarity with commodity market dynamics affecting power and cooling equipment, including copper, steel, and refrigerant supply chains
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
