Full Job Description
About the Role

As Manager, Commercial Operations, you will lead the capabilities, processes, systems, and partnerships that help our Sales organization execute with speed, consistency, and financial discipline. You will connect customer and sales strategies to annual planning, S&OP, trade management, commercialization, reporting, and sales enablement-while developing a high-performing Commercial Operations team and modernizing the tools that support future growth.

You will be a strategic partner to Sales leadership and a key connector across Finance, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, IT, Legal, Procurement, R&D, broker partners, and external technology providers. This is an opportunity to shape scalable commercial capabilities, improve decision-making, and make a visible impact across a growing consumer packaged goods organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Commercial Operations and the Retail Business Administrative team by setting clear priorities, service standards, accountability, performance expectations, and capability-development plans.
  • Oversee critical sales and retailer support, including Trade Promotion Management (TPM) administration, retailer and broker contracts, customer deductions, scorecards, order support, and related commercial processes.
  • Build an effective, scalable operating model that improves prioritization, delegation, cross-functional service, and Sales productivity while reducing duplication and rework.
  • Coordinate annual customer planning and volume development, aligning customer assumptions, new-item expectations, promotions, pricing, risks, and opportunities with company revenue, volume, and profitability goals.
  • Represent Sales in the S&OP process and connect commercial plans with Finance, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, RGM, and other partners to strengthen forecasts and surface material risks and opportunities.
  • Lead trade-management governance, controls, performance measures, contract compliance, deduction prevention and resolution, post-audit processes, and disciplined commercial investment decisions.
  • Serve as the retail Sales subject-matter expert and primary liaison to the company's TPM provider; prioritize enhancements that improve adoption, data integrity, automation, efficiency, and long-term capability.
  • Coordinate Sales readiness for new items and major initiatives, ensuring customer requirements, item setup, retailer portals, samples, selling materials, forms, timelines, dependencies, and execution risks are addressed.
  • Lead cross-functional commercial projects with clear objectives, milestones, ownership, communication, and escalation of risks or barriers.
  • Modernize commercial processes, tools, dashboards, reporting, document libraries, and ways of working through simplification, automation, data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology.
  • Establish performance reporting, customer scorecards, KPI dashboards, and operating metrics that provide actionable visibility into plan performance, forecast variance, promotional effectiveness, and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate sales enablement, onboarding, customer and broker support, annual events, the National Sales Meeting, and key industry trade shows.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations, Trade Management, Revenue Growth Management, Finance, or a related commercial function; CPG food and beverage experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated people-leadership experience, including developing talent, establishing accountability, and leading teams through change.
  • Strong knowledge of CPG commercial processes, including annual business planning, forecasting and volume development, trade promotion management, deductions, customer planning, and S&OP.
  • Experience leading business-process, technology, or systems transformation; experience with TPM platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across Sales, Finance, RGM, Marketing, Supply Chain, IT, and other functions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret data, identify risks and opportunities, and turn insights into action.
  • A track record of simplifying complex processes and building scalable tools, systems, and ways of working.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Curiosity and a demonstrated willingness to use automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology to improve commercial productivity and effectiveness.
