Commercial Electrical Inspector - El Paso, TX

Salary: $67.00/hr - $76.00/hr

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Electrical Inspector to support a large-scale data center project in El Paso, Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a mission-critical commercial construction project while partnering with a highly respected team of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional inspection services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Perform field inspections during all phases of commercial electrical construction for a data center project.
  • Read and examine electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Inspect installations for compliance with applicable electrical codes and approved plans.
  • Report violations, prepare inspection reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), commercial electrical systems, and current construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide practical, code-compliant solutions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with contractors, clients, and project teams.
  • Excellent time management, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.
  • ICC Electrical Inspector Certification preferred.
  • Commercial electrical inspection experience required; data center experience strongly preferred.
  • Municipal inspection experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record required.


Texas Licensing Requirements:

Trade Inspectors must be licensed in Texas. Candidates currently licensed in states with Texas reciprocity may obtain a Texas Master Electrician license through reciprocity, eliminating additional examination requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Mobility & Movement:

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections.


  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas.


  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 25-50 pounds (e.g., inspection tools, plans, or small equipment).


Vision & Hearing:

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans, technical documents, and observe construction details.


  • Ability to detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection.


  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments.


Manual Dexterity:

  • Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers/tablets for reporting.


Work Environment:

  • Work performed in both office and field settings.


  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and construction site environments (noise, dust, uneven terrain).


  • Frequent driving between inspection sites and company locations within a region.
