Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:

The Commercial Coordinator supports Field Procurement Services and the Purchasing organization by coordinating commercial, procurement, supplier, documentation, invoice, reporting, and field action activities required to support project execution at the job site. The role works closely with Buyers, Senior Buyers, procurement leadership, Construction, Field Engineering, Logistics, Material Management, Project Controls, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Document Control, and supplier representatives to help resolve commercial issues, maintain accurate records, support timely procurement actions, and provide clear status visibility to project leadership. This includes supporting expediting follow-up for schedule-critical supplier deliverables. #LI-RG1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate field purchasing and commercial activities, including supplier follow-up, purchase order support, field requests, procurement action items, and commercial communications required to support construction execution.
  • Track supplier commitments, delivery status, documentation requirements, invoice issues, field readiness items, and overdue actions; follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive timely closure.
  • Support field expediting by identifying schedule-sensitive materials and documentation, tracking supplier delivery commitments, and escalating late or at-risk items to protect field execution priorities.
  • Maintain trackers and status records for procurement actions, invoice resolution, change items, supplier concerns, compliance documentation, contract-transfer or novation actions, and other project-specific priorities.
  • Coordinate with Buyers, Construction, Logistics, Material Management, Project Controls, Accounting, Document Control, Legal, and suppliers to resolve commercial, documentation, delivery, receiving, and payment issues.
  • Prepare concise procurement reports, dashboards, action logs, aging summaries, and management updates that provide clear status, risks, decisions, and accountability.
  • Participate in procurement, supplier, construction, and project coordination meetings; capture action items, owners, due dates, decisions, and closure status for purchasing and commercial topics.
  • Maintain commercially sensitive information, procurement records, supplier documentation, compliance files, and audit-ready project records in accordance with approved processes and document control practices.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience supporting procurement, supply chain, commercial administration, contract administration, project controls, accounting, expediting, construction, or field project execution.
  • Experience supporting supplier follow-up, delivery tracking, or expediting activities is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and support issue resolution in a fast-paced project or job-site environment.


Preferred Qualitifations:
  • Experience supporting EPC, semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, or large construction projects, preferably in a field office or job-site environment.
  • Experience with supplier management, invoice reconciliation, commercial reporting, document control, procurement systems, project controls systems, dashboards, automation workflows, or structured reporting tools.
  • Field expediting, material tracking, or supplier delivery coordination experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to contract transfer, novation, assignment, agency, compliance documentation, tax exemption documentation, funding requirements, supplier certifications, or certified payroll coordination is beneficial where applicable to the project.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong commercial coordination skills with working knowledge of purchase orders, supplier communications, invoice flow, change tracking, documentation control, and procurement records.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capability, including trackers, pivots, data cleanup, formulas, aging logs, action registers, dashboards, and management-ready status summaries.
  • Ability to organize complex information, identify blockers, follow up persistently, escalate issues with facts, and recommend practical next steps.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work professionally with suppliers, Buyers, field teams, project leadership, Project Controls, Accounting, Logistics, Engineering, Legal, and Document Control.
  • High attention to detail, ownership, accountability, confidentiality, sound judgment, and commitment to accurate, audit-ready documentation.
  • Field execution mindset with ability to understand construction priorities, recognize schedule-sensitive procurement actions, and balance urgency with procurement and commercial controls.
  • Ability to track delivery commitments, identify late or at-risk items, and escalate expediting concerns promptly.
