Job Description

The Commercial Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of commercial contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, minimizing risk, and maximizing business value. This role partners closely with sales, legal, finance, procurement, and operational teams to negotiate, review, and manage complex commercial agreements while supporting organizational objectives and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of commercial contracts, including customer, supplier, and partner agreements.
  • Ensure all contractual terms align with company policies, legal requirements, and commercial objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks.
  • Monitor contract performance, obligations, milestones, renewals, and amendments throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Provide commercial guidance during bid, proposal, and sales activities to optimize outcomes and protect company interests.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and reporting within contract management systems.
  • Support compliance initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of contracting processes and governance frameworks.
  • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships to facilitate successful contract execution and issue resolution.


Qualifications

You Have:

  • Proven experience managing the full contract lifecycle, including proposal support, contract drafting, negotiation, award, execution, contract administration, change management, renewals, and closeout activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, amendments, subcontracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), End User License Agreements (EULAs), and Maintenance & Support Agreements.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks while supporting business objectives.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Program Management, to ensure contractual obligations, compliance requirements, and business priorities are effectively managed.
  • Experience utilizing Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems to manage contract workflows, approvals, documentation, reporting, and governance processes.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted contract review, analysis, and drafting tools to improve efficiency, identify risks, and enhance contract management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    It would be nice if you also had:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or paralegal/legal studies background.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), or similar contract management credentials.
