Commercial/Ag Lender III

Platte Valley Bank

JOB SUMMARY:

Attain profit goals through the extension of credit to assigned accounts according to established procedures. Participate with senior officers on larger loans. Develop and expand market base of customers, and service existing customers by marketing expanded bank services, providing opportunities for relationship building and involving oneself in civic and community organizations.

Colorado Pay Rate: $125,000 - $175,000 per year based on experience, education, and/or skill level. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401k, and Paid Time Off.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Attends to the needs of present and potential customers seeking loans.
  2. Interviews applicants to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk within the bank's policy.
  3. Makes recommendations and decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits, or recommends loans to a higher authority.
  4. Maintains relationships on current assigned customers and prospective customers
  5. Establishes and updates electronic customer credit files to include balance sheets, tax returns, cash flows, etc.
  6. Develops and maintains an effective extensive professional network with potential customers. Actively participates in development and execution of the Wheatland marketing strategies and plan.
  7. Maintains a large loan portfolio that satisfies quality standards and qualifications established by senior bank management.
  8. Develop and maintain a significant presence throughout the agriculture and/or business community.
  9. Prepare senior loan submission of larger lines assigned.
  10. Participates in civic, community, state and professional groups to further personal and corporate goals.
  11. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor degree required with emphasis in business, finance, accounting preferred.
  2. 5-10 years lending experience
  3. Ability to market bank services and products.
  4. Fundamental knowledge of mathematics including statistical and financial mathematics skills.
  5. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
  6. Knowledge of lending procedures and practices.
  7. Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
  8. Use and understand various computer software related to carrying out essential responsibilities of the position.
  9. General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
  10. Demonstrated record of achievement in social and/or extracurricular and leadership skills.
  11. Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.
  12. Professional appearance.
  13. Self-sufficient/self-starting.
  14. Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  15. Ability to travel to meet customers' needs and for training purposes.


Physical Requirements:
